I am turning my personal blog into a wedding prep/ info center for my friends and family.
I guess I should start from the moment Ivan and I started talking. At first I wasn't romantically interested in him, we were just friends. But isn't that how all great relationships start?
As kids we had known each other and occasionally we’d run into each other but it was never more than just a distant friendship. One day a mutual friend brought us together and then I knew there was something wonderful in the works.
Our relationship has never been easy, we've had so many things to deal with but we never let it affect how we see and feel about each other.
I will never forget this past weekend.
Ivan had told me he was arriving a week later than he actually did. So I wasn’t prepared for his surprise visit. He has arranged for his family and I to have a night out at the cute Italian restaurant, Divina Cucina in Montrose. While I was busy checking the menu, he placed a plate in front of me with Hawaiian flowers and a small red box. I was confused and shocked until i turned around and saw him. I was so excited because of the fact that he was there that I didn't notice him reach for the box and get down on one knee. When he finally opened the box and looked at me with his silly grin I just nodded and said yes. It was such a blur but I’ll never forget it.
